surely if people are recomending a book, they have surely read it and have a opinion on it, otherwise why would they recomend it ?
or is it a case of lemmings following lemmings ?

Mike KAtz : Fim Directing Shot by Shot : the Blue One. Tells U everything about shooting your piece. brillaint
Directing and Procuding the short....: Irving and Rea : how to run a production end 2 end: excellent work
filmakers handbook : forgot the author see amazon. it explains about filmmaking etc. great general reference
DONT BUY Guerilla Film Makers - its very Shiite.
You need a PC to edit your material on. shoot dv, trnasfer to PC, slice n dice, export to dv, copy to vhs
you can edit on the camera I suppose, but then you could also fuck up half your work n go mad 2
this forum has a mix of normal(?), wierd, and plebs. lists are for fun
sorry for the delay in posting, in a wierd pleb with half a life and a fulltime job n family and 6 hour commute and this pain in all the diodes on my left.....

forget 5c cinamatography OR borrow it from a library. I just had a very long look at it. not sure id buy it now. have bought the others. threw the guerilla thing in the garage. waste of paper.
on sound, unless your working without it, you will need to hire mikes etc. someone else in here knows more about the what.
makes editing on a PC even more important.
unless you are working in film - in wich case dont, work on DV until you can mke good use of film 0- its way more expensive to learn on. ( even if it might be better - hoping to start another film vs DV row ;-) )
mmmmm.
shooting people.org have mailing lists to find the people you need to help you get it done. its a bugger to get of the list once you are on though. maybe they get money per listed user.....
with a pc/mac you will need a film editor ( premiere or final cut ), maybe some titling ( depends on how clever you want to be ), maybe some sound editing ( dunno - )
software CANT be found on Kazaa. Honest. ;-)
